Community rules

MyDistrict is for building our communities and supporting local business. It is not a place for politics, arguments or anything that could hurt someone. These rules apply to everything you post: business pages, jobs, offers, events, lost & found, reviews, reports and photos.

Welcome

• Local businesses, services, prices and genuine offers
• Real jobs with honest pay and no fees
• Community events, festivals, cultural programmes, sports, school and temple/church/mosque/gurudwara events (all faiths equally)
• Help for neighbours: blood requests, lost & found, power or water problems
• Pride in your district: its history, food, crafts, places and people's achievements

Not allowed

1. No politics. No political parties, leaders, candidates, election campaigning, voting appeals, party symbols, slogans, rallies, bandh or protest calls, or political criticism — of any side.
2. No hate or abuse. Nothing that insults or attacks anyone for religion, caste, community, language, region, gender, disability or any other identity. No abusive words, threats or bullying.
3. No sexual or adult content, and absolutely nothing that sexualises or harms a child.
4. No scams. No job that asks for a fee or deposit, no "earn ₹5,000 a day from home", no lotteries, chit or investment schemes, crypto tips or instant-loan offers.
5. Nothing illegal — drugs, weapons, gambling or betting (satta/matka), fake certificates or currency, wildlife products, organ sale, sex-determination tests, black magic or vashikaran services, or medicines without prescription.
6. No one's private information. Never post Aadhaar, PAN, bank or card numbers, OTPs, or someone else's phone number, address or photo without their permission.
7. Only your own photos and words. Use photos you took or have permission to use. Do not copy other businesses' photos, logos, menus or text.
8. No false news or rumours, especially about accidents, crime, disease or emergencies.
9. No pretending. Do not pretend to be a government office, police, a brand, or another person or business. Do not post AI-made or edited images of real people.
10. No spam and no links to other sites to collect people's details.

What happens to posts

• Everything is checked automatically. Some posts are refused straight away with a message; some wait for a quick check by the district team.
• Anyone can tap ⚑ Report on any post, review, problem report or business page. Reported content is checked by the team and hidden when several people report it.
• Content that breaks these rules is removed. People who break them again and again lose their account and their business page.
• Content that is against the law may be reported to the authorities when the law requires it.

We remind every member of these rules when they join and every three months after that.
